Looong Overdue

Sorry it has been so long since I've updated everyone on our life (especially you, Mark). So here is what has been going on the past couple of weeks:

The Kansas State v. UCF game turned out to be an interesting day. What was an overcast day turned into pitch black skies and funneling clouds over the stadium. They got through one possession of football for each team when they called for delay of the game because of lightening. It then turned into a downpour moving everyone out of the stands for cover except the students. They sat in their seats the entire time (about an hour and half) while everyone else were waiting for the tornado sirens to start going off. Just look on the internet if you are curious of how bad it actually was.

The next weekend we went back to Tuscaloosa for the first time for the Alabama v. Florida game! It was the first time I had seen any of my girlfriends since our wedding and it was sooo nice! We all got together at Sara, one of my pledge sister's apartment. I think we probably could have stayed up until the next morning talking about all our memories from college! The weekend was also a surprise for Brandon, Todd's brother. We showed up at his apartment where he was lounging at the pool. He was so confused and surprised to see us.
Saturday before the game was spent at the Memphis Tiders tent tailgating with everyone. It was so fun to be back in the atmosphere of the Quad eating some good food the Greens brought for everyone. I also went back to the ADPi house with Heather and Tina to see our house mom MiMi. It was so weird being back in the house but it was so easy to act like that was still home for us! Todd and I went over to the CTSM (Learfield) hospitality tent to see all the guys he worked with while at Alabama. We also introduced tailgating and the Strip to our Dallas Alabama fans Jennifer and Sarah Mosley and their parents. It was so great seeing them again!! Brian and Kristen, Todd's former roommate and my former roommate who are married, sat with us during the game. It was great (and entertaining) to sit with them again and watch Alabama destroy Florida again!
It was a bittersweet weekend in Tuscaloosa, but we were so glad to have the opportunity to be able to get down there. Hopefully more will come!

This past weekend was our trip to Memphis for the second wedding of the year in the Poley family. Brooke and Daniel became Mr. and Mrs. Ruff October 9. The weekend started at an early hour for us. We woke up at 1:45 AM to leave Manhattan by 2:30 to get to Kansas City for our flight that left for Memphis at 6:10 AM. When we landed in Memphis at 7:40, Todd immediately went to play 18 holes of golf with all the groomsmen and I went home to get ready for the Bridesmaid Luncheon at 10:30. We girls spent the morning getting pampered until 2:30 from where I went home to see my brother, Josh, get ready to escort his friend on Homecoming Court for Collierville High School. Todd got back from golf at 4:00 and we left for rehersal at 5:15. Rehersal dinner was so nice. Brooke and Daniel are so loved by their friends and everyone did such a great job on their speeches. We got home from rehersal dinner about 11:00 and made it to bed just three hours shy of being up 24 hours (on 4 hours of sleep).
Wedding day started for Brooke at 9:00 when she and three of her bridesmaids went for their morning walk. I'm not sure if you could find a bride that was more calm on her big day than that! We had a lot of fun getting ready and hanging out in the bride's room with enough snacks to feed an army! The ceremony went perfectly and Brooke was a beautiful bride walking down to meet Daniel. The reception will go down as one of the more entertaining ones I've been to because of a great band and all of their friends staying out on the dance floor until the band ended the night. Todd and his cousin, Drew, had the best dance off that I've seen ending with a pants splitting back flip from Drew! The videographer got it all on tape, too (which makes it even better).
All in all, it was an exhausting but wonderful weekend!

We are now enjoying our first Saturday with nothing to do, sitting on our couch watching some great football. I promise to try to keep the updates coming and not so long!

Much Love

P.S. work is great for the both of us, just SUPER busy!! Putting in a lot of hours but its paying off :)
