Stuck

Just got out of my first experience of getting stuck in the snow! I made it all the way home to get stuck coming into our apartment complex!
We have been in a 30 mph snow storm since about 7:00 this morning with the temperature dropping from the teens down to 3 by the time it was 10:00. With the wind chill the temperature tonight is -15 degrees! With the wind being so bad, the snow has been drifting into 4-5 in deep piles. This is what helped get me stuck.
Several cars before me had tried to go into the entrance I did so I could see how deep the snow was but didn't think I was not going to be able to make it through! I turned m front tires into the driveway and dug a deep hole sliding sideways when I tried to continue going forward. My car was completely blocking the driveway. Its a good thing Max Fitness was like the only thing still open and everyone else was already home, because my car was going NOWHERE. I tried for several minutes to try to get myself out by shifting back and forth between drive and reverse, but as Todd told me later I need a lot of practice. I wasn't very good at it!
I gave in and called Todd to come dig me out after I realized I was making it worse. He comes sliding down towards my car with our shovel the Poley's had given us for Christmas (we did need it in an apt after all!). He dug some holes behind my tires for me to try to reverse it back. The first time I did good! I got completely out of the snow. Then I tried to go through it again and took a wider turn trying to miss the snow I had previously gotten stuck in. That was not a good idea because I def got my car stuck AGAIN! At this point Todd kicked me out of the car laughing at how bad of an idea that was. After a good 10 minutes of fighting against the snow, we finally got it out and turned around to go through the other entrance.
This was supposed to be better.....but it wasn't! Todd got my car stuck this time. So if we are counting, that is 3 times within a 15 minute time span. Telling me to get in the driver's seat, he tried to push my car as I tried to gas it through the snow. We didn't budge a bit with ice being under the snow and no traction whatsoever! So Todd gets back in the car and reverses back all the way into the opposite street then guns it through the snow up the driveway and makes the corner....stops to wait on me and gets stuck for the 4th and final time.
Again we alternate trying to move the car through the snow and he is finally successful at getting going all the way to our apt and parking it! I had a little of a walk to get back to the apt but as long as my car was back, I was happy!

By the way, did I mention it was -15 degrees?! Needless to say we were both frozen numb by the time we got back into our apt! I jumped around in pain for about 10 minutes thinking I was never going to have feeling in my hand ever again (yes, I did have gloves on)! I kind of wish I had had my camera with me because it would have been quite comical to document us digging our way out! Hopefully for my poor hands sake that is the only time we get stuck in the blizzard here!
